Kate Jablonski is a singer-songwriter based in the suburbs of Detroit, MI. Having roots that lie within acoustic, folk-rock, and pop-country genres, her performing and songwriting abilities prove to be strong and solid - backed by passion, raw talent and drive. Emerging into the local music scene in 2009, she continues to make a name for herself through performing at local venues, annual festivals, benefits, and also recording new music. Some of her performances include the annual Ford Arts Beats & Eats (2014, 2016, 2017, 2018 & 2019), Detroit Winter Blast (2016), Detroit River Days (2016), Sterling Fest (2017), Clawson Arts & Authors Festival, American Cancer Society Relay for Life, Clawson 4th of July Fireworks celebration (2016 & 2019) and the annual "Rockin' for a Match" Concert/Bone Marrow Awareness Fundraiser (2016-2019). Jablonski and band, Oak City Roots, also gave a live performance in January 2016 on WDIV Channel 4 - "Live in the D", promoting their album release.
Most recently, Jablonski has written, recorded and released her first independent EP - "Running From Myself" (2016) - The 5 song EP lands in the categories of Indie, Country Pop and Folk Rock. The new music consists of acoustic foundations layered with a full band, strong vocals, smooth harmonies and honest lyrics - Classic sounds that a wide range of music listeners can relate to. One of the tracks on the EP, "Let It Go" was featured on 93.9 The River, on a Sunday evening broadcast "Hear & Now". With more original work waiting to be recorded, there is sure to be fresh new music on the horizon.
Kate and her band, Oak City Roots, released their original debut album - self titled, "Oak City Roots" - in December 2015. The full length, 12 track independent album has gotten many positive reviews, continued air play and genuine praise from a growing fan base.
